Things to do
We're sure you won't really have trouble finding things to do in NYC. But in case it's your first time, we'd love to offer up some of our favorite spots. We figure you know many of the classic spots to hit in NYC, so this is a more Stevie & Sarah forward list.
King
Great little (intimate) spot in the Village where we went on our very first date! Chef Clara de Boer then opened up Stissing House in Pine Plains, NY where we had dinner after our engagement.
Leo
Another great down-to-earth Italian spot. Stevie got the NY slice pie mistaking it for a slice. A great mistake that we wouldn't mind making again. Their soft serves are great too.
Crown Shy
One of our favorite restaurants of the late, great James Kent where we've enjoyed many annivesary dinners and post-work drinks. Everything is good here (soundtrack and interior included).
Bonus points if you stop by their sister cocktail bar Overstory, located on the 64th floor of the same building, for stellar drinks and equally stellar views of the city.
Dutch Kills
We recommend this bar to pretty much everyone. Especially if you're staying close to us in Long Island City. Drinks are fantastic and well worth the money in the NYC landscape. And they just opened up a jazz club inside.
Morgenstern's
As ice cream lovers, we have to recommend this spot that serves up crazy flavors and burgers.
Caffè Panna
Another ice cream joint we're obligated to share. We've gotten many birthday cakes here and we always make a stop if we're in the area.
Radio Bakery
Lovely little bakery that's relatively new to Greenpoint. Amazing pastries all around (but expect a line on weekends).
The Gutter Bar
Fun little retro bowling alley in Long Island City. Also check out Fifth Hammer Brewery next door.
Gantry Park
Beautiful, sweeping views of Manhattan and the Queensboro Bridge. Lots of food vendors and piers to walk down.
